At Hindustan Cricket League, the safety and well-being of children participating in our events is our highest priority. This policy outlines the steps to be followed if a child goes missing during any match, event, or league activity.
1. Immediate Action
If a child is reported missing:
Staff, volunteers, and responsible adults will begin an immediate search of the area.
If the child is not located within 10 minutes, ground security and local authorities will be informed.
Other children will remain safe, supervised, and kept together until the situation is resolved.
2. Communication
Parents or guardians will be contacted without delay.
A clear description of the child (including age, clothing, and last seen location) will be shared with staff and volunteers.
If the child is not quickly located, the police will be notified.
3. Search Procedure
Immediate searches will be conducted in nearby areas such as restrooms, pavilions, stands, and parking lots.
All entry and exit points will be closely monitored.
Staff and volunteers will temporarily stop other duties to focus on the search.
4. When the Child is Found
The child’s safety and well-being will be confirmed first.
Parents or guardians will be informed immediately.
The incident will be reviewed to understand causes and prevention measures.
Emotional reassurance and support will be provided to the child if required.
5. Prevention Measures
Children must always be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or an assigned volunteer.
ID tags or entry passes will be issued to children during events.
Team managers or volunteers will conduct regular headcounts.
Staff and volunteers will be trained in handling missing child situations.
6. Reporting and Documentation
A written incident report will be prepared and securely stored in records.
The incident will be reviewed in the next committee meeting to strengthen future safety measures.
